Lil’ Kim is on the cover of the latest issue of Time Magazine. The moniker, however, does not denote to the veteran rapper but to the new supreme leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Eun – the youngest son of former dictator Kim Jong Il. A photo of the North Korean leader is also on the cover.

The usage of the tagline may once again bring rapper Lil’ Kim to some political confusion.

In December, the female rapper was mistakenly linked to Kim Jong Il’s death in misreported accounts. Some Twitter users seemingly believe that the female rapper Lil’ Kim had died instead, in the wake of the passing of the Jong Il.

North Korea’s Lil’ Kim cover is featured on the U.S., European and South Pacific editions of the magazine.

New York Knicks’ Asian American point guard phenom Jeremy Lin is gracing the cover of its Asian edition.

Six universities from the Philippines are included in the list of Top 100 debating societies in the world by the International Debate Education Association (IDEA). They are Ateneo de Manila University (#7), University of the Philippines-Diliman (#23), University of the Philippines-Manila (#40), De La Salle University-Manila (#42), Far Eastern University (#92), and Xavier University (#95).

Eighteen other local universities made it to the Top 500 list.

IDEA based its World University Debate Rankings from the results of 33 high-profile international tournaments.

“The totals are calculated by adding the results of all the teams that society fielded in the tournaments we track over the course of the year, right up to the largest event – the World Universities Debating Championships.” IDEA wrote. “The rankings are maintained by Colm Flynn, an emeritus member and former Chair of the World Debating Council and a former Deputy Chief Adjudicator of Worlds.”

Boy genius Moshe Kai Cavalin is now getting ready for his graduation at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) this year, completing a mathematics degree.

The boy genius, who enrolled at East Los Angeles Community College at age 8, has already earned his first of two Associate of Arts degrees at 9 – graduating with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

“People need to know you don’t really need to be a genius. You just have to work hard and you can accomplish anything,” says Moshe.

After graduating from UCLA, the talented teenager plans to enroll in graduate school with hopes of eventually earning a document.

The wunderkind has also just published an English edition of his first book, “We Can Do.”

The 100-page instructional book explains how other young people can accomplish what Moshe did through such simple acts as keeping themselves focused and approaching everything with total commitment.

“I was able to reach the stars, but others can reach the `Milky Way,” he tells readers.

It reportedly took four years for him to finish the book because his Chinese mother decided to publish it in Mandarin and doing the translation himself was laborious.

Foreign ministers of the G-20 or the Group of 20 major economies held an informal meeting at the weekend in Los Cabos Resort in Baja California Sur, Mexico.

The purpose of the said meeting was to discuss in a frank and open way how the G-20 can contribute to address, more efficiently, key challenges in global governance.

Among the things that were discussed and analyzed in the meeting included breaking the deadlocks in multilateralism; the need for stronger leadership to deal effectively and consistently with cross cutting challenges; building common understanding on green growth and sustainable development; and the building global responses for human development, among others.

The results of the discussions will be recommendations that will enhance the relevance of the G-20 and the ability of its members to promote greater coordination and global leadership.

Among those who attended the meeting were US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, an European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.

The G-20 includes 19 country members and the European Union, that all together represent around 90% of global GDP, 80% of global trade, and two thirds of the world’s population. The group will be meeting in Mexico in June for its annual Summit.

Michael Bay recently stated he’s currently developing a fourth Transformers movie but according to actor Josh Duhamel, “nobody’s doing it.“
A top grossing flick and none of the previous actors are coming back? Strange.
At a party for Sony Playstation’s new PS Vita, Duhamel stated:

“I don’t think anybody’s doing it. I know Shia [Laboeuf]‘s not doing it. I don’t think Tyrese or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it.“

Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura recently told MTV news that the Transformers creative team plans to reboot the series with a new storyline and did say that Bumblebee and Optimus will most likely return.
